If you find it difficult to remember which Bin should be put out each week, here is a helpful Bin Collection Calendar that you can either print out to put on your fridge or save as an image to your smart phone.
Please note that recycling collections are changing in June 2026. Further information can be found at East Suffolk Council.
The Village Voices is a fantastic parish magazine serving many villages on the Deben Peninsula. However, due to printing requirements the news can be three or four weeks out of date. To be alerted to the latest news you really need to sign up to the Hollesley Grapevine. This media simply sends an e-mail to you with the latest update. It may be a road closed, or a missing dog, or news of the work the Parish Council is continuing to carry out with the Ministry of Justice with regard to residents at HMP & YOI Hollesley Bay.
Just to let you know, Sutton Heath Football Club have decided to move to Sutton Memorial Hall and Recreation Ground for their home matches. We wish them all the very best for the seasons to come
Many of you will have seen the Grapevine message sent in August regarding improvements to the number 71 bus that serves some of the Deben Ward villages.
By virtue of various pieces of legislation, the Parish Council is permitted to give grants to groups and organisations who provide a service or benefit to the community.
You will have read the excellent article in the August edition of the Village Voices by the HMP and YOI Hollesley Bay prison Governor, Mr Garry Newnes. This article was prompted by the latest meeting between Garry and representatives of both Hollesley and Boyton Parish Councils.

Do you know a young person who needs a grant for education purposes? The Mary Warner Educational Foundation provides grants to people under the age of 25, in need of financial assistance for education purposes and who live in Hollesley and the surrounding villages.
Past grants have included funds for young people finding it difficult to get to college or higher education, outfits, clothing, tools, instruments and books.

As per Government advice, Hollesley Parish Council will be re-opening the Play Equipment on both the Recreation Grounds as from Saturday 4th July.
Like most villages, this equipment is open for children to use at any time and it is not attended or monitored on an on-going basis. Therefore posters will be displayed to help prevent the spread of Covid-19 and to keep everyone safe.
The company building the new play equipment (NGF Play) came to assess the site on 1st June and the position of the 5 new pieces of equipment was discussed. The exact position of the equipment is still being discussed, with thoughts of the local residents and the future development of the equipment being taken in to consideration.
